Matthew Francis Bacolini (October 4, 1985 – December 2, 2022) was born in Redwood City, California, on the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi. Known for his gentle spirit, kindness, and contagious smile, Matt had a lifelong love of animals—especially dogs—and a deep devotion to his family.
He excelled in sports at St. Raymond School in Menlo Park and graduated from Saint Francis High School in 2004. After working in construction, he graduated from Project 90 in San Mateo and dedicated years to recovery work there before relocating to Florida, where he lived and worked at Project Hope and volunteered in his community.
Matt was an inspiration to many facing addiction. He cherished his family—especially his nephews and niece—and brought joy through his humor, athleticism, and generous heart. The Foundation carries forward his spirit of hope and service.
The Matthew Francis Bacolini Foundation advances mental health and well-being by supporting people and communities through practical programs, partnerships, and resources that promote stability, opportunity, and improved quality of life.
Through hands-on education and workforce-development opportunities, we help participants build practical skills, explore new careers, and pursue pathways toward greater opportunity and stability.
We invite donations of aircraft and aviation-related equipment to help advance our work through hands-on education and training.
